Dear friends and supporters:

I trust this letter finds you all in good health and sprit. It has been a busy year as we continue to make sacrifices to survive life’s daily challenges. Personally, I will draw on the strength of the Almighty, and continue to be inspired by the wisdom of our dearly departed, Andria, who continues to watch over us all.

As we mark the 12th year of her passing, it’s hard to believe that she has been gone for such a long time. No doubt because we continue to be touched by her spirit and the lessons she shared with each of us. I have also drawn on the values my parents instilled in me to help me navigate today’s treacherous terrain. They taught me right from wrong, and the special time when respect, honor and a person’s character meant something more than the size of their bank account. One of the most important things that Andria and I taught the children from a very young age was that if you do good things, good things happen. And when you do bad things, bad things happen and as the Holy Book teaches us: Bad company corrupts good character.

In this great country of ours we are so Blessed yet we have taken so much for granted. As we go into 2014 the time is ripe for all of us to reflect on were we are today and to remember the lessons we learned from earlier interventions at church, with our elders and with our parents. We all have a road to travel and what we do along the way is what life is all about. Therefore, it’s time for us all to get tougher, stand taller and do more – to fulfill our God given potential. As we move The SpeakEasy M.E.D.I.A. Foundation into its fifth year, there are so many challenges in the world for us all to face and we cannot sit idly by.

Living in a demanding world means that we too must be demanding, strong and steadfast in doing what is right for ourselves, our families and our communities. Change is the only constant in life, so let’s count our Blessings and get busy by helping ourselves and helping others who are less fortunate change their circumstance. This is what Andria’s legacy is all about. We honor her by keeping her legacy alive – by giving back to the next generation of broadcast media professionals and supporting communities. As we close out year five, we extend our grateful thanks to everyone who has supported the SpeakEasy M.E.D.I.A. Foundation since our inception.

Sincerely,

Clayton Sizemore
